TAMPA-PRO Installation Tips -How to cut the seals!
This step-by-step guide outlines the process for installing seals on the "Tampa Pro" shower door, following the precise instructions from the product’s manual. These steps include installing the door bottom seal, magnetic strip, and vertical seal strips.
Tools and Materials Required:
Measuring tape
Utility knife or heavy-duty scissors
Fine-tip marker or pencil
Safety gloves
Step 1: Install the Bottom Door Seal
Measure the Door Width: Using the measurements provided in the manual, measure the distance from the wall to slightly further than the edge of the door panel (handle side).
Mark the Seal Strip: Mark the bottom door seal strip according to the measured length.
Cut the Seal Strip: Use scissors or a utility knife to cut the seal strip to the correct length.
Tip: The seal should extend slightly beyond the handle side but not collide with the wall on the hinge side.
Trim the Side Lip: Measure from the edge of the seal strip and mark where the side rubber lip will need to be cut (ensure it's the side lip, not the bottom). Cut the side lip at the mark.
Fit the Seal: Attach the bottom seal strip to the bottom edge of the door panel, ensuring the side lip faces the inside of the door. Confirm that the fit is flush and no parts are misaligned.
Step 2: Install the Magnetic Vertical Seal
Position the Magnetic Seal: Insert the magnetic strip along the opening side of the door panel, starting from the bottom and working up.
Mark the Magnetic Strip: Once aligned, mark the height of the door panel on the magnetic strip.
Cut the Magnetic Strip: Cut the magnetic strip at the mark using a utility knife or scissors.
Reinstall the Magnetic Strip: Insert the cut magnetic strip back into place along the front of the door.
Step 3: Install the Back Vertical Seal (Hinge Side)
Attach the Vertical Seal: Fit the vertical seal strip onto the back (hinge side) of the door panel.
Measure for the Upper Seal Strip: Measure from the top of the vertical seal down to the first hinge and mark the location.
Cut and Reuse: Cut the seal strip at the mark, and use the cut-off piece as the upper seal strip. Reattach it to the upper section of the door panel.
Install the Middle and Lower Seal Strips: Repeat the process to measure, cut, and install the middle and lower sections of the vertical seal strip.
