To fix a toilet that seems to be on a constant flush, adjust the "Fill Rod Screw" by turning it clockwise to shorten the length.

  1. Remove the seat cover from the toilet.
  2. Gently turn the seat cover sideways to expose the flush rods (or rod) underneath.
  3. Locate the "Fill Rod Screw" on the flush rod assembly.
  4. Turn the "Fill Rod Screw" clockwise to shorten the length of the rod.
  5. Observe the effect of the adjustment on the flush mechanism.
  6. Test the adjustment by pushing the manual flush button.
  7. Observe the back and forth movement of the rod when the manual flush button is pressed.
  8. Make further adjustments if necessary to achieve the desired flushing behavior.
