- Wall studs
- Drywall panels and screws
- Shower base
Preparation:
- Verify that all parts are included as per the parts list.
- Ensure the work area is clean, level, and compliant with local building codes.
- Always handle tempered glass and materials with care to avoid damage or injury.
Installation Steps
Phase 1: Preparation
- Shower Base:
- Install the shower base according to its manual but skip the drywall installation steps.
- Ensure the base rests securely on the wall studs.
- Drywall Panels:
- Cut and fit drywall panels to align with the shower base flange.
- Drill necessary holes for plumbing access.
- Secure drywall panels to the studs using screws.
Phase 2: Wall Panel Installation
- Adhesive Application:
- Apply four strips of double-sided construction tape vertically on the back of the wall panel.
- Spread construction adhesive in a circular pattern, maintaining a 1-inch border along the edges.
- Mounting Wall Panels:
- Position the panel onto the drywall and press firmly.
- Use a rubber mallet to tap the panel evenly for proper adhesion.
- For overlapping panels, apply silicone along the grooves for a secure connection.
- Edge Trims:
- Apply silicone along the inside corners of the edge trim.
- Attach the edge trim to the panel edges securely.
Phase 3: Finalizing Installation
- Sealing:
- Apply silicone to the panel edges for waterproofing.
- Allow 24 hours for the silicone to cure fully.
- Shower Enclosure:
- Continue with the shower enclosure installation as per its manual.
Always wear protective gear when handling materials.
Inspect materials for damage prior to installation.
Avoid modifications to tempered glass as it can shatter.
