How to Replace the Soft Close Mechanism for the Lena Smart Toilet


If your Lena smart toilet’s soft close mechanism isn’t working properly, you can easily replace it by following this guide. A functioning soft close mechanism ensures quiet and smooth operation of the toilet seat.

Tools and Materials Needed

  1. Replacement soft close mechanism (compatible with Lena smart toilet)
  2. Screwdriver
  3. Soft cloth or towel
  4. Bucket (to catch any water)


Safety Precautions

  1. Ensure the toilet is not in use during the replacement process.
  2. Turn off the water supply to prevent leaks.
  3. Unplug the toilet from the outlet.


Step-by-Step Instructions


Step 1: Turn Off the Water Supply

  1.   Locate the shut-off valve behind the toilet.
  2.   Turn the valve clockwise to stop the water flow.

Step 2: Turn Off the Bidet Lever

  1.   Turn off the lever of the bidet located behind the toilet to stop the water flow to the bidet.

Step 3: Lift the Toilet Seat Slightly

  1. Gently lift the top part of the toilet to access the components underneath.

Step 4: Remove the Top Plastic Component

  1. Gently lift the top plastic part of the toilet to access the internal components.
  2. If necessary, disconnect any electronic connections carefully to remove the top piece completely.

Step 5: Disconnect the Solenoid

  1. Locate the solenoid connected to the bidet system.
  2. Carefully disconnect the solenoid.

Step 6: Remove the Toilet Lid

  1. Locate the screws securing behind the toilet seat and underneath.
  2. Use screwdriver to remove these screws.
  3. Carefully lift the toilet lid to access to the electronical components.

Step 7: Disconnect the Wires

  1. After removing the lid, carefully disconnect the wires.

Step 8: Detach the Old Soft Close Mechanism

  1. Find the soft close mechanism attached to the hinges of the toilet seat.
  2. Unscrew and remove the old soft close mechanism from the hinges.

Step 9: Install the New Soft Close Mechanism

  1. Align the new soft close mechanism with the hinges.
  2. Secure it in place by tightening the screws with the screwdriver.

Step 10: Reconnect the Wires

  1. Carefully reconnect the wires as shown in the video.
  2. Carefully reconnect the tube of the solenoid.
  3. Ensure all connections are secure and properly aligned.

Step 11: Reattach the Toilet Lid

  1. Secure the lid by re-inserting and tightening the screws underneath and behind the seat. 
  2. Position the top part back onto the ceramic bowl.
  3. Ensure the lid opens and closes smoothly.

Step 12: Turn On the Water Supply

  1. Return to the shut-off valve and turn it counterclockwise to restore water flow.
  2. Turn the valve of the bidet to switch it On.
  3. Check for any leaks around the base of the toilet and the water supply line.

Step 13: Plug in the Toilet

  1. Re-Plug the toilet plug into the outlet once the installation is complete.


If the lid does not close properly, double-check that the soft close mechanism is securely installed and aligned.
